OTOPLASTY

What is otoplasty?

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that corrects the prominent ears whether is caused by poor ear folds definition or by excess conchal bowl.

How is otoplasty performed?

If your ears are prominent, too big or too far apart, Dr. Buzea will reshape, reposition or remove the cartilage so as that at the end of the surgery your ears look the way you want.

When is otoplasty recommended?

Otoplasty may be an option for you if you dissatisfied with the appearance of your ears. Whatever might be the reason you are not happy with your ears, Dr. Buzea can help you. He will adjust the shape of your ears in a natural way, placing also the incisions so as the scars won’t be visible.

What happens after surgery?

Once the surgery is over, you will be wearing a dressing around your ears which will be changed periodically.

In the first days after the procedure, you must apply an ointment that Dr. Buzea will recommend and also you will have to rest for about one week.

The finals results are visible in about 14 days and last a lifetime.

Since most of the details about the surgery (what it means, how to prepare for the operation, what type of anesthesia will be used, what the recovery implies etc.) must be discussed face to face, doctor Buzea can offer you a personalized consultation. This way, you can have a better understanding of both the risks and benefits of such an intervention, taking into account your wishes as well as your unique anatomical characteristics.
