What is rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure which addresses both the aesthetic and functional issues of the nose.

How is rhinoplasty performed?

Buzea performs several rhinoplasty techniques: structural rhinoplasty (classic rhinoplasty) and preservation rhinoplasty.

Both can be performed in a closed approach (the scars are kept inside the nose) or in an opened approach (with an extra scar on the columella, the skin between the nostrils). The best technique will be chosen according to the characteristics of your nose.

Structural rhinoplasty completely reshapes the nose while preservation rhinoplasty solves the functional and aesthetic problems with minimal tissue damage.

During surgery, Dr. Buzea may change the shape of the bones, cartilages and the skin depending on what you have agreed upon in advance so as to get an optimal result. He will select the appropriate technique for your issue so as to achieve harmonization of the face, correction of the nasal profile or restoration of nose symmetry. Septal deviations are also treated. After surgery, snoring will be reduced or will completely disappear.

When is rhinoplasty recommended?

What happens after rhinoplasty?

During surgery two small silicone tubes will be inserted in the nostrils so that when you wake up you will be able to breathe through your nose.

The nose will be swollen for about 10 days and the inflammation will completely disappear in a few months, up to one year. In the first months, your nose can swell especially in the morning, but ice pack can be very helpful in this matter.
